Alternator Problems

Here is a quick fix if your alternator dies on in the middle of nowhere.

Turn off your engine.  Wedge something ( e.g. pencil, dime) under your boost switch.  Then start the generator.  This will allow you to charge the house batteries and the chassis at the same time.  This will bide you enough time to get through the night and into a mechanic's shop.
